Inspired by the works of the great Edgar Allan Poe, Raven Productions Australia is a unique company of actors and performers who merge song, burlesque and abstract performance art to bring to life his tales of the macabre, morbid, quirky and often comical.
Since establishing in 2013, our productions have played at Sydney’s famous Slide Bar and Vanguard Theatre to sold out audiences and toured to The Adelaide Fringe in 2015 where their production of Edgar’s Girls received 4 out of 5 star reviews.

The Grotesque and Arabesque: The Twisted World of Edgar Allan Poe
Now comes perhaps the most interesting Burlesque propositions so far, a tease where gothic literature is the stimulus. The Grotesque and Arabesque is a theatrical fusion of song, burlesque and circus celebrating the work and influences of the master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe.

This one woman psychological thriller follows a young woman who finds herself slowly consumed by her isolating circumstances. We begin to ask ourselves are we witnessing someone’s decent into madness or have we just been privy to the work of an evil genius.
